BrewDog make beer for drunks and for sissies
Scottish brewing company BrewDog has released two different brews recently late have caused a lot of controversy. The first, called Tokyo* has a whopping 18.2% ABV, and caused an uproar in Scotland because critics feel it adds to the country’s alcohol problem. BrewDog counters that the high alcohol volume allows for less drinking, as it would take fewer beers to get the desired effect. To counter the uproar, the company has released a beer called Nanny State, which has a minuscule 1.1% ABV. Critics say that the name “Nanny State” shows how little BrewDog takes the alcohol problem in Scotland. I’m guessing over in Scotland naming a beer “Nanny State” would be like naming a beer “Candy-Ass” here in the states.
