From NFL Great to NFL Joke, Favre comes back (again!)
Surprise, surprise. Brett Favre has once again come out of retirement to play football in the NFL. He signed a 2 year, $25 million deal with the Minnesota Vikings. This guy changes his damned mind more often than a female virgin on prom night. He’s gone from the greatest, most loved and respected individuals to ever play the game to one of the biggest jokes in the NFL. If there’s ever been a case of someone who doesn’t know when the hang up the cleats, this is it. The only thing that comes close to this would be Rickey Henderson trying to come back when he was almost 50. More recently, John Smoltz is adding his name to the list. I just don’t understand why this guy just doesn’t walk away. He has nothing left to prove. He’s going to go out there and stink up the joint like he did at the end of last year, and the Vikings will miss the playoffs. That’s right, I said it, the Vikings will miss the playoffs. Favre doesn’t have the arm strength he had before, and his accuracy has been questionable over the last 5+ years. Honestly, I have no problem with the guy wanting to play. But quit fucking retiring just to turn around and come back. When the year ends, stay with the team, report to training camp, and if you don’t want to play any more, then retire. Don’ say “I’m done” in February then say “I’m back” in August. That’s a bunch of crap.
