Disney buys Marvel

The Walt Disney Co. is in the process of Buying Marvel comics for $4 billion (cash & stocks). Yes, the company that brought you such greats as Fantasia, WALL-E, and The Little Mermaid is buying the company that brought you The X-Men, Spider-Man and The Fantastic Four. Wonderful. Just f*cking wonderful. Just what we need in the comic book movies I love so much. Now we’ll get to see Spider-Man express his love for MJ in song, or Iron Man sing his way out of a nuclear predicament while saving Minnie Mouse. Maybe even see Mr. Fantastic battle a giant animated crab along side Timon and Pumbaa.

While I can’t say I’m excited about this, I’ll have to see how Disney handles the Marvel characters. Disney has always fashioned itself as a family-friendly company, so I can’t really see them making violent films. We’ll see what happens. I just hope I never have to see this:
