Beer Braised Brisket Recipe

If there’s one thing I like to do, it’s eat. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not a pig. But I do like a good meal every now and then. I love food, especially meats and breads. Here’s a recipe for ya from About.com for Beer Braised Brisket. If you try it out, let me know what you think. I may try this later in the week.

Prep Time: 25 minutes

Cook Time: 3 hours

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 2-1/2 pounds beef brisket
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 medium onions, sliced thin
  • 4 (12 ounces each) bottles lager beer (not dark)
  • 6 red or gold unpeeled potatoes, quartered or 12 whole baby red or gold potatoes
  • 1 large rutabaga, peeled and cut into 1-1/2-inch pieces
  • 6 carrots, peeled and cut crosswise into 1-1/2-inch pieces
  • 10 whole cloves of garlic, peeled
  • 1 sprig fresh thyme
  • 1 bay leaf, broken in half
  • 2 Tablespoons butter, at room temperature
  • 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup minced fresh parsley
