We’ve Come a Long Way, Baby

Dave and I have been working on the bar regularly for a while now. Seeing how we only have evenings and weekends to work out there, it’s taking us longer than either of us would like. Fortunately, this weekend we took a huge step towards being done. The latest big project we’ve been working on is the bartender area. We had some shelves back there that were used as storage when it was still a garage. While they were handy behind the bar, they took up a lot of room and ended up being a place to just stick stuff “for now” and generally were just a huge mess. So, last weekend Dave & his wife Sarah took those down, and since then, we’ve been working on them when ever we get the chance. We got insulation and a new wall up, along with a thinner shelf, TV stand and part of the ceiling. We still have a long way to go before we can say we’re done, but we’re a lot closer than we were back in February. When we do finally get everything done, we plan on writing down and documenting everything we’ve done for those of you who’d like to do the same thing and want some ideas as to how to go about doing it.
