The Prince is King
So I just finished watching the 2009 Home-Run Derby on ESPN. Was a pretty good show, but nothing at all like the show Josh Hamilton put on in Yankee Stadium last year. Prince Fielder of the Milwaukee Brewers won the contest, beating Nelson Cruz of the Texas Rangers. Hometown hero Albert Pujols of the Cardinals made it as far as the second round, but that’s it. Poor Brandon Inge (Tigers) is the only one who didn’t hit a single homer. Ah well, I think he was only in the thing because they couldn’t get anyone else to do it. While he has power, he’s not what you really think of when you think power-hitter. Any way, congrats to Prince. Can’t wait for the All-Star game tomorrow night. Hopefully it doesn’t go well past midnight again.
