Cool Off with some Summer Brews
Looking for a unique way to cool off this summer? Try some of these mixed drinks you make with beer. After looking through them, I think I’d be willing to try the Lime-Chile Beer. Here’s the ingredients:
- 1/3 cup fresh lime juice, plus 2 lime wedges
- 2 1/2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 (12-oz.) bottle light-bodied wheat beer (such as New Belgium’s Sunshine Wheat)
- 1/4 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
That there will get you 2 servings, and doesn’t sound half bad. To prep it, you just 1) stir lime juice, sugar, and 1/3 cup water together until sugar dissolves in a glass measuring cup. Fill 2 beer mugs with ice and pour half the beer into each. Top with lime mixture. and 2) sprinkle one side of each lime wedge with salt and the other with chili powder and serve it with beer. I might try one of these some time. Check out the rest of the recipes and let me know what you think.
