You’re Outta Here!
When I played baseball in high school, we’d run into an umpire or two that took the game way too seriously. Called the game like it was game 7 of the World Series. For the most part, though, the umps were fair and called the game right. I saw this article over on Rivals.com via Yahoo! about an umpire that threw the entire crowd out of the game – and even called the cops! His reason was that they were “unruly, yelling, and arguing.” Um, have you ever been to a high school sporting event before, Mr. Umpire? “Unruly, yelling and arguing” pretty much sums up every crowd I ever played in front of in high school. Hell, by the time the game started the fathers were usually drunk and pissed off their sons weren’t pitching, and the mothers were trying to control the younger kids while yelling at their drunk husbands. This guy really needs to learn to relax, have a beer, and let the fans enjoy their drunkenness.
