Cure to a Crappy Day
I had an interview today for some part-time web design work for one of the top colleges in the area. I ended up getting lost on campus and being 20 minutes late to the interview. Not only that, but the power steering on my car went on Friday night on my way home from work, so I had troubles with that with all the rights and lefts I had to take on campus. I finally got to the interview, and it went well. Walked back to the car and headed to work, and it was all I could do to turn the wheel. I almost hit about 3 different cars just trying to get out of the parking spot, so I said to hell with it and called the garage. Called work and told them what was going on, then headed to the garage. Had him fix the power steering pump and re-build the starter (which it desperately needed). About an hour and a half later, he calls me and tells me it’s done. The price? $231.12. The problem? I had $227 in my checking account. I tel ya, I’m so glad I live in a small town. He let me pay him $160 now and I’ll give him the last $71.12 when I get paid again on the 10th of April. So now I have to make $67 last me 2 weeks some how. And to add a little more crap to the day, it’s cold again and rained most of the day. 60+ all weekend, and now back down into the 30’s. At least I found something to cheer me up. I wish I’d remembered about these girls back in December when I was having a crappy day. Their tournament ended December 20 with Penn State winning it all. Women’s collegiate volleyball may very well be my new favorite spectator sport. Those tight, tiny shorts really get the old heart a pumping!
