So Dave and I (mostly Dave) have gotten a lot done on the bar. The bar itself basically needs only a few more coats of clear coat and some trim. There’s a shelf we’re putting up at one end of the bar that needs some major cosmetic work on it. We’re gonna try to make it match the bar so when you look at the bar from the end, it looks like the bar extends up the wall. Other than that, we have a few things to do to the walls, and we’ll eventually replace the floor. Old nasty carpet on top of concrete really isn’t the best for a bar atmosphere.

I ended up gong down there on Saturday night with the intention of working on the bar again. Dave and his wife Sarah got a lot done before I got there, and by the time I arrived, Dave was ready to drink instead of work, so not much more got done. In fact, about the only thing that did get worked on was the rest of the beer we had left from New Year’s. They have this sweet living room set – a couch and loveseat – and every seat opens up like a recliner. Dave crashed on the couch and I crashed on the loveseat eating chili and watching The Family Guy movie. Last thing I remember seeing is Stewie talking to himself on the bus. It was a fun night, and the first time I’ve been actually drunk in a while. Hopefully we can wrap up the bar in the next couple of weeks and have a few people down for the “grand opening”. Won’t be able to have a lot of people there, as we could fit probably 8-10 in the and still be comfortable, but that’s more than enough.
